The Fourth Graphics.com Challenge

The fourth Challenge requires participants to create an original work embodying at least one of the techniques covered in the Create a Natural Media Brush in Photoshop tutorial, take from Photoshop CS4 QuickSteps, by Gary David Bouton and Carole Matthews. Some interesting entries have already been posted.

The Liquidlibrary Identity Challenge 5

Identity Challenge 4, which involved the creation of a business card and letterhead for DreamOfProvence.com, concluded recently. We're still judging the many fine entries, which we encourage you to browse and comment on.

The fifth challenge is a bit different, in that the emphasis is on typography. The client this time is GlobalThanks, a Web 2.0 startup that's about to launch its new web application designed for social networking sites. The creators of three winning designs will each receive three-month subscriptions to liquidlibrary.

The Photos.com Philter Phrenzy 1

We're pleased to announce a new Graphics.com design contest. The Philter Phrenzy differs from the existing three in that each iteration is based on the use of a different free or commercial Adobe Photoshop-compatible filter plugin. Participants begin by downloading and installing the current plugin, and then experiment to see what it's capable of and how they can best employ it within either an original work of their own, or one they have permission to submit.

At the end of each round the entries are judged by Graphics.com staff, with three that best make use of the capabilities of the plugin selected as winners. They'll receive three months of access to Photos.com, as well as copies of Plugin Galaxy, from The Plugin Site. So we encourage you to... work yourself into a Phrenzy.

Cut&Paste presents: The Adobe Photoshop "See What's Possible Challenge"

Do you have what it takes to show Adobe® what's possible with their own software? Rock out a 15-second or less animation or motion graphic video of the Photoshop brand logo that illustrates the theme of "See What's Possible." The winning work must incorporate and close with the Adobe Photoshop logo and will be used by Adobe as part of an upcoming Photoshop marketing campaigns.

March 2008 Photos.com Challenge

The love of pattern is something all cultures have in common and it has fascinated creatives throughout history. Part of pattern's appeal is that it's typically based on natural motifs, as expressed so well in the work of the Art Nouveau era. We're getting the jump on Spring this month, thanks to our selection of six floral patterns from the Photos.com stock photo collection. The challenge is to use part of any five of the six pattern images below in a new composition. You can download the medium-resolution versions individually or an archive containing high-resolution versions of all six.
